Join Donegals Eco Warrior at Arts & Crafts Workshops this Saturday

A Reuse Arts’n’Crafts workshops for young people will take place on Saturday 14th October from 11am to 1pm at the Reuse Container at the Letterkenny Recycling Centre.

This workshop is being held as part of Reuse Month and will be facilitated by Donegal’s own, Sarah Carr winner of this year’s ‘Miss Earth - Eco Warrior’ award.

Sarah who is from Downings works closely with local Tidy Towns groups and primary schools, educating young people about marine conservation.  Sarah organises clean-ups locally and also works alongside the Marine Conservation Society in Ireland and Northern Ireland.   Her aim is to help raise awareness about the effects plastics are having on our beaches and our marine environment.

“These fun filled workshops will teach young people about all the wonderful things they can make with everyday items that would otherwise go into the bin” says Fiona Kelly from Donegal County Council who is organising these workshops.  “This is part of Reuse Month and our drive to promote a greater awareness of how we can reuse items rather than having them go into the bin and ultimately ending up in landfill sites”.

These workshops are free and booking is not required.  So just turn up and have fun.
